"Happy birthday, mom!" Fethry kisses Lulubelle on the head. He travelled all the way from Duckburg to his parents' home with his yellow car.
Yeah, it's Lulubelle's 54th birthday. She doesn't look much of that age tho. Still as looney as back then!
"I invited a special guest too", Eider smiles. "You'll love him."
Lulubelle laughs. "No way! I only love you!"
They kiss.
Then the door rings. Fethry walks to the door and opens up.
"Buens dias", a red bird with a sombrero smiles.
"Pan... Panchito?", Fethry gasps. "Panchito Pistoles? Well... welcome amigo."
"Gracias, Fethry", Panchito waves back. "Who's the birthday child? Your mama, I suppose?"
Fethry nods.
"How are your Spanish skills, by the way?"
Fethry scratches his head. "Just meh. Mom's are better, but dad's are perfect!"
"Voila, senorita!", Panchito storms towards Lulubelle.
"Hey, hey, chico", Eider says, crossing his arms. "She's still my wife."
Lulubelle bursts into laughter. "And which rules says only you can give me gifts?"
Now it's Eider who laughs. "Honestly... you're right. So that I have to spend less money."
Panchito hands Lulubelle a gift in green paper. The loon lady opens it.
"Wow!", Lulubelle smiles. "A dress in mexican colors! Por favor!"
"Hey, you know I'm 25 % Latino?", Eider says. "My grandmother Camilla - she also wanted us to call her Abuela - was Puerto Rican, but sadly died when I was a little boy. She was only 49."
"Then she was my grandmother?", Fethry asks.
Eider nods. "And it makes ya 12.5 % Latino, amigo."
"Aren't you two musicians too?", Panchito asks, packing out his acoustic guitar.
Eider nods. "Here I have an amplified PRS Santana MD."
Panchito gasps. "Asombrosa! Where did you get that from?"
"It was a gift from Abuela's brother's grandson Pedro", Eider says. "Praise God that I got this masterpiece. It's worth a lot - just not as much worth as my wife." He smiles. "I'm gonna play today."
"And I'm gonna play my blues harp", Fethry says.
"And me my flute", Lulubelle smiles.
"You don't have to play anything on your birthday tho, cariƱo!", Eider laughs.
So the four begin playing.
Eider plays so intensive on his guitar that you could really be mistaking him for Carlos Santana!
Panchito accompanies him with acoustic riffs from the Spanic guitar, with some flute and harmonica vibes. A real concert!
But not for long, eventually the door rings again!
"Wait a minute, this must be Abner", Lulubelle says. "I'm gonna open up."
She walks to the door with the flute in her hands.
Her flute playing is accompanied by the door ringing.
"Ah, of course I gotta stop playing to open up", she laughs. Therefore, she just lays the flute on the commode and opens up.
And indeed, it's Abner!
"Happy birthday, mom!", he smiles, which he doesn't do often. "I got a gift for you."
"Thanks Abner", Lulubelle smiles.
"Buenos dias, hijo!", Eider greets him.
"Seriously dad?", Abner groans. "What's this nonsense? Grow up."
"If anyone needs to grow up, you do, chico!", Eider laughs. "You too are 12.5 % Latino! Maybe you should learn Spanish too."
"No thanks", Abner grumbles. "I came here to spend time with the family. I will admit mom needs more time with me. I'm really a bit lazy and disrepectful. But if she wants me to learn Spanish...."
"Haha, no, silly boy!", Lulubelle laughs and hugs Abner. "You didn't even need to bring me a gift, I'm just happy you're here!"
"I'm also happy you arrived, hermano!", Fethry laughs.
Abner sighs again. "Is there a Hispanic pandemic now? We just had the one named after a beer and..."
"Son", Eider sternly says, "bit more respect please. Do you want a spanking?"
Abner sighs. "Dad, I'm 33 and too have a child now! Are ya serious?"
"I know, I know", Eider chuckles. "Just show a bit more respect about some traditions, OK? Is your daughter coming too BTW?"
Abner grumbles. "Nah, she's with Donald. Strange choice. But fine. What kind of food do we have? I'm a bit hungry. It's obvious that momma should have the most, but I didn't have anything to eat either. I had to skip breakfast because I had to fix the truck."
"I'm bringing food", Eider says. "By the way, I wonder where your lack of humor comes from. Not from me, not from your mother! Maybe from Lulubelle's mother?"
"Afraid it does", Lulubelle laughs. "She never had sense for humor, and she's 80 now. But she always was the best mother nontheless."
"And likewise Abner's still a great brother, right mom?", Fethry asks.
"Sure is", Lulubelle nods
Eider walks in the kitchen. "Here's what we have!"
He grabs a taco and throws it!
"DADDY! ARE YA NUTS?!?!", Abner yells.
He manages to Duck before the taco could hit him.
What a waste of food!
Thankfully, it doesn't become so. Lulubelle holds out a plate to catch the taco.
"No flying burrito brothers, but a flying taco father and son", she giggles.
But not everyone finds this funny.
Now it's Abner who sternly looks at his father.
"Really now dad. I know you love making fun, but that ain't a good idea. Do you want to waste food? No thanks. If that's how you want to organize a day like this, I'm gonna give momma the gift and go back home."
Eider looks down. "I apologize, son. Sometimes the child in me takes the wrong side. I promise not to do it again."
"Then it's fine", Abner says. "And now I'm hungry!"
After the meal, the concert continues. Now it's a quintet, for Abner has joined his brother, parents and Panchito with the trumpet. So sad we can't hear it from the fanfic, we would find it heavenly!
